Traditional Village Fete is coming to the Brunswick!
06 May 2009

London’s version of a traditional village fete is returning to The Brunswick, Bloomsbury on the 9th May 2009.
The Village Fete, is based on a traditional, Dibley-esque village Fete but will be given a unique twist, as befits this sophisticated retail centre in the heart of London’s Bloomsbury district.
The centre will be decorated with straw bales and filled with fun games and entertainment. There will also be special offers for shoppers to take advantage of, prizes up for grabs and the Brunswick lucky Dip Bags for the first 500 people!
The event is all very tongue-in-cheek as we are, of course, a central London shopping centre with flagship stores and a highly sophisticated retail mix all set within an award-winning 1960’s concrete structure! The entertainment and stalls reflect that fun, slightly kitsch attitude!
For the child in us all, there will be face-painting, balloon modelling and a balloon race; complete with completely biodegradable balloons and labels! Whilst the Delectable Dancing Dollies; a dance troupe should raise a smile in even the most cynical of adults!
All the entertainment is free, although the local charity, The Coram Fields Association, will be out collecting over the course of the day.
The games and stalls, which will include the local Farmers’ Market, will be spread throughout the Brunswick Shopping. Refreshments will include a Beer Tent and cake stall, as well as the ‘standard fayre’ from Brunswick restaurants Giraffe, Crussh, Carluccio’s, Strada, Nandos, Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Apostrophe.
The Fete will be opened at 11am on Saturday 9th May by the May of Camden, and will continue until live Jazz kicks off at 5pm.
